Barbara J. (Bartlett) Rainone, age 88, of Leland Avenue, Warwick, died at home on Sunday, April 23, 2017. She was the wife of the late Michael “Mickey” Rainone, who passed away in February. Mr. and Mrs. Rainone were married for 66 years.
Born in Providence, a daughter of the late Stanley K. and Josephine A. (Spinella) Bartlett, she lived in Warwick since 1935. Barbara met her beloved Mickey when they were working at Armour & Co. Together, forty years ago, they started Warwick Poultry, of which she was past president. She was a founding member of St. Kevin Parish in Warwick, and a past president of St. Kevin’s Women’s Club. She was well known for her cooking and crocheting, and was an avid reader.
She is survived by a daughter, Mary Ellen Jenison (James Marvelle) of Pascoag; three sons: Michael Rainone, Jr. (Janice) of East Greenwich, Kenneth J. Rainone (Rachel Juaire) of Coventry, and Carl M. Rainone of Warwick; six grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. She was the sister of the late Mary J. Carlone, James S. Bartlett, and Helen A. Butterworth.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial on Saturday, May 6, at 8:30 a.m. in St. Kevin Church, 333 Sandy Lane, Warwick. Burial will follow in St. Ann Cemetery, Cranston. Visiting hours are omitted.
