Boy and Girl Scouts from across southern New England are invited to participate in the Fourth Annual “Afternoon of Service” this upcoming Sunday, April 24.
The afternoon of service will take place at Camp Promising Acres in Swansea, Massachusetts and is open to scouts between the ages of 10 and 17 and runs from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. This interfaith initiative consists of a service project, team building exercises and various other fun activities.
The afternoon will conclude with a brief “Scouts Own Service” to remind participants that as scouts they should all be “reverent.”
The Rhode Island State Council of Churches, The Rhode Island Jewish Committee of Scouting and the Diocese of Providence Catholic Committee on Scouting are all sponsoring the interfaith and inter-organization event.
For more information or to register for the event visit the Narragansett Council website, www.narragansettbsa.org or the Girl Scouts of Southeastern New England website www.gssne.org.
