Tri City Elks
The Tri City Elks, 1515 West Shore Rd., will have the James Montgomery Band with Corey Belucci music on June 23 from 9 p.m.-12:30 a.m. Tickets are $20 at the door.
The Chatham Village Garden Club will meet on June 5 at 7 p.m. at the EBC Center. The program will be Keeping Our Waters Clean, presented by Jamie with the Narragansett Bay Commission, followed be a regular meeting.
American Legion Post #15
The American Legion Post #15, 1016 Post Rd., East Greenwich, will have music by Bobby Justin on June 8 from 7-11 p.m. $7 admission.
The Ocean State Orchid Society will meet June 9 at 1 p.m. at Spring Hill Suites By Marriott, 14 James P. Murphy Industrial Highway (behind Cardi's). The program will be Lessons From Nature, Lessons From Professionals-Tips and tricks to grow better orchids. The speaker will be Tim Culbertson, an accredited American Orchid Society judge and orchid hybridizer. The meeting is free and open to the public.
Almost Summer Bake Sale
The East Greenwich Animal Protection League will be at the Warwick Mall Community Booth for an Almost Summer Bake Sale June 9 from 10 a.m.-8 p.m. Baked goods, homemade dog and cat items and many more wonderful items will be for sale. They will also have pictures of cats and dogs that are available for adoption as well as information about the league. Dropoff of baked goods will be June 8 from 10 a.m.-7 p.m. at 60 Middle Rd., East Greenwich, or June 9 at the Warwick Mall Community Booth after 10 a.m. All proceeds will be used for animals in their care.
Trinity Church, 139 Ocean Ave., Cranston, will have a pancake breakfast June 9, Gaspee Day, from 7-10 a.m. Full breakfast, all you can eat. $5 for adults, $3 for children and $1 off for anyone in uniform.
Fun Day/Yard Sale
The RI Family Shelter is having a community Family Fun Day/Yard Sale June 9 from 8 a.m.-2 p.m. behind the shelter, 165 Beach Ave., next door to St. Benedict's Church. Steak Fry Fundraiser
The Greenwood Volunteer Fire Company & Museum Annual Steak Fry Fundraiser will be held June 10 starting at noon. Advanced ticket sales are $20 each and includes all your food and entertainment. Kids under 16 free with adult ticket, and receive hamburger or hotdog. Come see "Jackie" the pink fire truck. Cause for Paws Classic Car Show
The 5th Annual Cause for Paws Classic Car Show will be held June 10 at 171 Service Rd. (off Jefferson Blvd.). Rain date is July 15. Featured will be antique cars, classic cars to 1980, rods, muscle cars and all-year Corvettes are invited to exhibit. Vehicle registration is from 9 a.m.-12 noon with free goody bags and dash plaques to the first 100 entries. The entry free is $15 per car. Spectators are free to roam the show. Enjoy oldies music by Cruisin' Bruce Palmer. Trophies will be awarded at 2 p.m. in 26 classes, including Best of Show, Peoples Choice and Best Club Participation. Bring a can of wet dog or cat food for the shelter animals and receive an additional door prize ticket. Food and refreshments will be available. The City of Warwick Youth Advisory and Prevention Task Force, Warwick Police Department and the Rhode Island National Guard are now accepting applications for the summer Adventure Camp. The Warwick Police Department and Rhode Island National Guard are looking for students 11-14 years old to participate. The Grange is a fraternal community service, non-profit organization with a special interest in rural life and the traditions of faith, patriotism, leadership and family values. The Child Outreach Department of the Warwick Public Schools, in cooperation with the Volunteers of Warwick schools (VOWS), conducts regular preschool screening clinics. All Warwick preschool children between the ages of 3 and 5 are offered the Early Screening Inventory-Revised (ESI-R). This is a free service provided by the Warwick Public Schools. Participation in a Developmental Screening is a long established program of the Warwick School Department that provides families with information about their child's development and offers information about community resources. The Donate Shop is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit thrift store that provides free clothing to families in crisis. They are an all-volunteer organization that relies solely on the support of the community to continue this endeavor. Domestic Violence Volunteers
The Elizabeth Buffum Chace Center (EBCC) is currently seeking volunteers for their Speakers Bureau. All volunteers will be trained to provide outreach, as a representative of EBCC, to communities in their service area through attendance at health and community fairs and by fulfilling requests for informational speaking engagements. Volunteers will receive thorough and specialized training under the supervision of the agency services coordinator before beginning this work. Fife and Drum Corps
The Kentish Guards Fife and Drum Corps rehearses on Wednesday evenings from 7-9 p.m. at the Kentish Guards Armory on Pierce St. in East Greenwich. Free lessons on playing the fife are provided to men and young men interested in joining the corps.

Join the Pawtuxet Rangers Fife & Drum Corps of Warwick and continue the great tradition of Colonial/Revolutionary history through music. The Fife & Drum Corps meets every Wednesday night at Wyman Elementary School from 6:30-8 p.m. The corps is open to anyone over the age of 12. Drum and fife instruction is available to beginners.
