Carmine Tavarozzi, Jr., age 80, of Warwick, passed away on Thursday, November 23, 2017, at Rhode Island Hospital.

Born in Providence, a son of the late Carmine Tavarozzi, Sr. and Antonetta (Grillo) Tavarozzi, he was a life-long Warwick resident. Carmine was a very proud United States Navy veteran, and served on–board the U.S.S. Corregidor. Carmine, along with his brothers, founded Tavarozzi Bros. Incorporated, through which they built several homes and businesses throughout Rhode Island. He was an avid Boston sports fan and his most notorious saying was “What time’s the game on?”

He leaves behind his three loving children, Lisa A. (Tavarozzi) Gregory of Daytona, FL, David C. Tavarozzi and Kerri L. Tavarozzi, both of Warwick; and his three brothers, Louis Tavarozzi and his wife Pat of Cranston, Robert Tavarozzi and his wife Elaina of Exeter, and Michael Tavarozzi and his wife Norine of Warwick. “Poppie” also leaves behind two granddaughters, Kasandra Petetabella of Wells, ME, Lindsay N. Tavarozzi of Boston, MA; and three great-grandchildren, Elizabeth, Brantley and Logan; along with several nieces and nephews.

His funeral will be held on Saturday, December 2, at 7:45 a.m. from the Barrett & Cotter Funeral Home, 1328 Warwick Avenue, Spring Green, Warwick, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 8:45 a.m. in St. Timothy Church, 1799 Warwick Avenue, Warwick. Burial with military honors will follow in the Rhode Island Veterans Cemetery, Exeter. Visiting hours will be on Friday, December 1, from 4-7 p.m.
