The Community College of Rhode Island’s Distributive Education Clubs of America (DECA) chapter is hosting two holiday raffles this week at the Warwick and Providence campuses to raise money for the club’s annual donation to the Tomorrow Fund to support families of children with cancer.

Both raffles are open to the public. Raffle items will be on display at the Knight Campus’ Great Hall today from 10 a.m.-3 p.m. and at the Liston Campus Atrium throughout the week from 10 a.m.-2 p.m. until Friday. Attendees can purchase tickets and enter to win a specific item or items.

The drawing will be held Saturday, December 7 from 9 a.m.-2 p.m. at the Great Hall, including a public indoor yard sale. The live drawing for raffle winners begins approximately at 2. Two main winners will be chosen to win a 32-inch smart TV or a Google Home Mini. Other raffle prizes include gift cards to local restaurants and gift baskets.

Tickets for the smart TV and Google Home Mini are $2 apiece. Tickets are also available for a special 50/50 raffle for $5 apiece. Donations for Toys for Tots will also be accepted at Saturday’s raffle in association with CCRI’s Veterans Services. Those who donate a toy will be entered for free in a separate raffle for a gift basket.

Portions of the proceeds will be donated to the Tomorrow Fund with additional proceeds benefiting CCRI’s DECA chapter and its upcoming trip to Atlanta for the DECA International Career Development Conference, which includes an annual competition.

Founded in 1946, DECA is a national organization that prepares emerging leaders and entrepreneurs in marketing, finance, hospitality and management in high schools and colleges throughout the world.
