Cecile A. Houston, RN, BS, 76, died March 31, 2017. She was the beloved wife for 50 years to Hughie M. Houston.
Born in Long Island, she was a daughter of the late Florian and Gladys (Apcenski) Spinner. Cecile was a graduate of the Prospect Heights Hospital School of Nursing, class of 1962. She had worked at Sloan Kettering, Mercy and Physicians Hospitals’ while living in NY. She moved to RI in 1969 and had worked at Kent Hospital as an ER nurse for 16 years, then at Electric Boat as an Occupational Health Nurse for 14 years, retiring in 2000.
She was the sister of Mary Ellen Pagnozzi and the late George F. Spinner. She also leaves her loving nieces and nephews, cousins, friends, and her beloved dog, Buddy.
Her funeral will be held Thursday, April 6, 2017 at 10 a.m. from the Thomas and Walter Quinn Funeral Home, 2435 Warwick Ave., Warwick with a Mass of Christian Burial at 11 a.m. in St. Clement Church, Long St., Warwick. Burial in the Rhode Island Veterans Cemetery, Exeter. Visiting hours Wednesday 4-7 p.m.
