Chamber Orchestra presents final season concert

The Chamber Orchestra of Barrington will present its final concert of the season on Sunday, April 7 at 3 p.m. at St. John’s Episcopal Church, 191 County Road, Barrington. The concert will feature pianist Haig Yaghoobian in a performance of J.S. Bach’s, Concerto No. 1 in D Minor for Cembalo, BWV 1052.

Conducted by Edward Markward, the program will open with Aaron Copland’s, Quiet City for Cor Anglais, Trumpet and Strings and features Linda Diebold, English horn, and James Stone, trumpet. Rounding out the program is F.J. Haydn’s Symphony No. 101 (“Clock”), Hob. 1/101.The orchestra, comprised of 36 professional, community and student musicians from Rhode Island, Connecticut and Massachusetts, was created to showcase the finest quality music in the chamber orchestra repertoire. The orchestra is hosted by St. John’s Episcopal Church and Jacob Stott, its director of Music.

Local residents performing are Catherine Drance, clarinet; Wendy Rios, violin; Donna Gardos, cello; Erin Erban, viola, all of Warwick; John Simpson, violin, of East Greenwich; Jacob Stott, keyboard; and Kaitlyn Braman, flute, both of Johnston.

The concert is free, but donations are welcome.
