CVA proactive in keeping Conimicut clean

To the Editor:

Every week you can see Conimicut Village Association volunteers walking the long stretch of streets in Conimicut Village cleaning up the streets and sidewalks. CVA recognized over a year ago that they needed to be more pro-active with the litter patrol, so they have put together weekly teams to go out and pick the garbage from their streets.

It is their hope that the residents will take pride in their neighborhood and not throw trash to the ground and use the trashcans that CVA has strategically placed around the village; they also have an all-volunteer team that empties them, too.

As Ginny Barham, president of CVA, remarks, "We go to great lengths to make our village attractive and clean. We are all volunteers and take great pride in the community that we live in. We hope others will see what we do and help out when they see something that needs to be done."

Those wishing to volunteer and be a part of CVA can go directly to the website www.conimicutvillage.org.
