Dave’s Auto Service Time to pass the torch, and the wrench

If you know Dave Rickey, the owner of Dave’s Auto Service on Warwick Avenue, you know instantly what he cares about: his family, his work, his country, his customers.

Dave is more passionate and devoted to these things than just about anything else in the world. He has dedicated nearly forty years of his life to running his auto repair shop. He has endured through recessions and economic booms, through the constant evolution of vehicles, and through the ever-changing advances in technology and modernization. He has serviced the vehicles of literally hundreds of car owners ~ and has built a loyal following that has transcended time and generations.

It is only because Dave is as committed to the satisfaction of his customers that he is also committed to the longevity of his business. He wants to keep the momentum going and to preserve the reputation of Dave’s Auto Service for decades to come. This is why he has just passed the mantle of his business on to long-time fellow mechanic Robert Palumbo.

The connection and professional relationship between Dave and Robert extend to many realms, both in and out of the repair shop. The trust and confidence that Dave places in him has been honed from years of association, and from observation. He has recognized Robert’s instincts under the roof of a vehicle. He has seen firsthand how years of experience and time spent “in the trenches” have developed in him the same mechanical aptitude for what he does as Dave has. He has seen Robert’s undeniable work ethic. For such an important transition in this longstanding family-run business, Dave wouldn’t have it any other way. He also wouldn’t have anyone else step in and take the reins.

Over the next few weeks and months, when you need a car repair done, you will now see the face of technician Rob Palumbo at Dave’s Auto Repair. Customers should know that this business is as vital and busy as ever, and that they should expect the same level of precision and professionalism that have long been associated with this repair shop.

Come on by the shop and introduce yourselves. Its about time to meet Robert and to see why Dave has hand-selected him to carry the torch forward.

Dave’s Auto Service continues to be a full-service automotive repair shop which covers the whole gamut of services from tune-ups to brake and exhaust repairs, tires and front-end work. More specialized repairs such as the replacement of clutches and front-end alignments are performed as well as Rhode Island State inspections.

Visit Dave’s Auto Service at 460 Warwick Ave. For more information, call 401-461-8121. Watch for more details as this business takes hold under new ownership.

Dave Rickey sends his heartfelt gratitude for all those who have supported him for the past four decades. Now it is time for new adventures.
