It was music to the ears of dog lovers from all over the region, as a bell was rung each time a dog was adopted by its new family at the 12th annual Super Dog Adoption Day event held Sunday at Balise Toyota on Post Road in Warwick.
The event is organized by Louise Anderson Nicolosi, founder of Always Adopt, a Rhode Island nonprofit dedicated to working together to create a world where there are “no more homeless pets.” It was reported over 400 dogs would be adopted by the end of event, which has been held at Balise for the past five years.
The entire interior of the auto dealer’s showroom and maintenance garage is cleared to make room for the hundreds of people and dogs who cycle through to possibly adopt puppies and dogs from over 13 shelters throughout the country.

This woman is amazing-I'd like to see her on NBC nightly news for the incredible event she organizes twice a year...
