Douglas A. MacGowan, at the age of 69 passed away on Thursday, April 20, 2017 at Kent Hospital in Warwick, RI while surrounded by his family. He was the husband of Roselyn (Zwolenski) MacGowan of Warwick, RI.

Born in Providence, RI, he was the son of the late Clifford F. and Dorothy E. (Ashton) MacGowan. Doug was from the graduating class of 1965 from Warwick Vets High School. He had worked for Anderson Little first in retail, then managed multiple of the men stores in upstate New York. Later in his retail career, Doug joined Interstate Properties and the Kravco Company of which he managed regional shopping centers in New York. Aside from his career, Doug was a devoted husband and a gentleman to his wife Roselyn and a loving father who loved to spend time with his family in the comfort of their home. He created special relationships with wild animals, such as turkeys, deer, mallards and hawks just to name a few. His granddaughter Ireland looked forward to her visits with ‘Gramps’ and appreciated Mother Nature as he taught her how beautiful it is.

Besides his wife Roselyn, he is survived by three children: Patrick MacGowan of Sayville, NY, Rose Ellen MacGowan of Sayville, NY and Matthew MacGowan of Sayville, NY: a granddaughter: Ireland Rose MacGowan and two sisters: Carol Bockstael of CT and Joan Maroelli of Warwick, RI.
