Earlene Lois (Jewett) Lancaster, 89, passed away Friday, March 31, 2017, in Raleigh, NC. She was the wife of Dr. Talmadge Lancaster for 64 years.

Born in Warwick, she was the daughter of the late Earl S. and Agnes L. Jewett. She graduated from the University of Rhode Island with a degree in Home Economics and later obtained a Master of Education from East Carolina University. She retired from the Dept. of Defense as a Reading Specialist. She and her husband traveled extensively and lived abroad in Germany, France, Italy and Iran.In addition to traveling, she enjoyed gourmet cooking, bridge and oil painting. She was a passionate member of Holland’s United Methodist Church, where she was involved in the women’s circle group.

Besides her loving husband, she is survived by her daughter, Holly Lancaster Clyne and husband, Terry of Nashville; son, John Talmadge Lancaster and wife, Kirsten, of Sanford; sister, Priscilla Turner of Rhode Island; grandsons: Walker Pegram, Stone Pegram, Kyle Pegram and wife, Tara; great-grandsons: Rowan Pegram and Caleb Pegram. She was the sister of the late Mildred Clarke, Hope Carter and Agnes Wilson.
