Earning their petals

Posted

In the spirit of holiday giving, members of Warwick Daisy Troop 331 made “Blessing Bags” for the homeless. The girls made up bags of non-perishable items like soup, granola bars and applesauce that can provide homeless individuals with energy until their next meal. Their good deed helped them earn their light pink “make the world a better place” petals and their light green “considerate and caring” petals. The troop made eight full bags – weighing in at more than nine pounds – that were donated to emergency food supplier Be the Change in West Warwick. Pictured are (from left) Sophie Desjarlais, Jordyn Bradford, Alicia Nelson, Faye Duffy, Talia Booth, Mikaela Ferraro, Madalyn Sholes and Charlotte Summers. Ava Authelet isn’t pictured but helped with bags as well. Pictured in the individual photo is Coreen St. Jean of Be the Change, who received the bags from the troop last week and will deliver them to those in need. (Submitted and Beacon photos)
