Registration for the 2017 Edgewood Girls Softball League season is happening now at its website, www.edgewoodsoftball.org.
EGSL is based at Park View Fields in Cranston, and is a recreational slow pitch softball league for girls ages 5 to 18. It has four divisions; tee ball, junior division, middle division and senior division, and EGSL has girls from Warwick, Cranston, Providence and Pawtucket.
Its season runs April 1 through the end of June with games and practices being held at Park View fields Monday through Sunday.
Most teams in the junior, middle and senior divisions typically play two to three games/practices per week, and tee ball players meet two times per week for skills building and mini games.
EGSL has many events throughout the season, including an Opening Day celebration with a parade and skills competitions, Cancer Awareness Saturday to raise money for cancer research, all-star games, a Walk-A-Thon and championships for the upper three divisions.
All girls are guaranteed playing time, and EGSL strives to provide a family-friendly atmosphere.
The Edgewood Girls Softball League is entering its 47th season.
