Edward A. Dohoney Jr., 83, passed away Sunday November 19, 2017. He was the husband of the late Elizabeth A. (Paradise) Dohoney.

He was a son of the late Edward A. and Mary T. (Higgins) Dohoney. Mr. Dohoney was a member of the Laborers International Union, Local 271 and had been employed with H. Carr & Son for 30 years. He has served in the United States Navy. A graduate of LaSalle Academy, class of 52, he was an All-State Hockey player. He coached for many years for the Warwick Jr. Hockey Association. He was a gold member of the Pawtuxet Athletic Club, and ran the Jimmy Fund for 30 years. Ed was a Red Sox, Patriots, and Cubs fan.

He is survived by his three sons and their wives, Michael E. and Kathleen A. Dohoney, William A. and Annette Y. Dohoney, all of Warwick, and Kevin P. and Kristin M. Dohoney of Cranston. He was the grandfather of Kathleen, Mary, Brenden, Amanda, Lauren, and Lila Dohoney. He was the brother of the late Dorothy Gilfillan, and the uncle of Donna Schultz and Edward Gilfillan.

His funeral will be held Wednesday, November 22, 2017 at 9 a.m. from the Thomas & Walter Quinn Funeral Home, 2435 Warwick Ave., with a Mass of Christian Burial in St. Timothy Church, Warwick Ave. at 10 a.m. Burial with military honors in Gate of Heaven Cemetery, East Providence. Visiting hours Tuesday 4-7 p.m.
