Edward L. Fielding, age 91, of Bonita Springs, Florida, formerly of Warwick, died on Sunday, January 19, 2020 in Florida.

Born in Providence, a son of the late Francis F. Fielding and Almoza D. (Ouellette) Fielding Darby, he lived in Warwick for most of his life, moving to Florida 15 years ago. He was a United States Army veteran of the Korean War era. Edward worked as an apprentice electrician for J.J. O’Rourke before becoming a master electrician. He opened his own business in 1969, E.L. Fielding Electric, and managed all types of commercial/industrial projects for more than 30 years. He retired at age 65 and fully enjoyed his golfing hobby as a member of Potowomut Country Club. Once a Floridian, he continued to play lots of golf.

Married to Joanne K. Fielding Collins for 46 years, he was the father of Jayne K. Platt (husband Kevin) of Cranston, Thomas E. Fielding (wife Elizabeth) of Bonita Springs and Timothy E. Fielding (wife Karlee) of Rotonda West, Florida; and the grandfather of Ross Fielding, Bryan Fielding, Wyatt Fielding and Tucker Fielding. He was the brother of Francis W. Fielding (wife Cecile) of Warwick and the late Richard T. Fielding Sr.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial on Friday, February 7, at 10 a.m. in St. Kevin Church, 333 Sandy Lane, Warwick. The family will receive friends at the church for an hour prior to the Mass from 9 a.m. to 10 a.m. Burial with military honors will follow at St. Ann Cemetery, Cranston.
