Edward Leo LaPointe, 86, of Warwick, entered into eternal rest Tuesday, May 29, 2018 with Hope Hospice & Palliative Care Rhode Island. Ed was the husband of the late Cecelia A. (Devine) LaPointe.

Born in Tiverton to Charles and Bertha (Benjamin) LaPointe. Ed was a veteran of the United States Army serving during the Korean War and then joined forces with the United States Marines and served in the Vietnam War. Ed’s greatest joy was learning and sharing of himself with family and friends. His wood working skills were to be admired. His painting and drawing were much appreciated. His zest for life was rewarding for many of us.

Ed is survived by his son, Kevin J. LaPointe and his husband Jimmie N. Fisher Jr.; two grandchildren, Danielle Renfrow and her husband Brandon and Kevin J. Lapointe Jr. and one great-granddaughter, Brianna Mae Renfrow. Ed is also survived by many nephews, nieces, great-nephews, great-nieces and his best friend and brother-in-law, John Zuffoletti and everyone’s favorite, Carol (Auntie) Zuffoletti. In addition, Ed is survived by his special companion Barbara Peltier of West Warwick. He was preceded in death by his son, Keith E. LaPointe.

A service of Honors will be held at Rhode Island Veterans Memorial Cemetery on August 10, 2018 at 12:30 p.m. A special thank you to Mark Marino of Romano Funeral Home.
