Elayne L. (Beck) Purcell died December 30 from complications of lung cancer. She was 74.

Elayne is fondly remembered for her love of the sun, her tremendous shopping skills, sharp memory, and marvelous sense of humor. Shewas a graduate of Hope High School in Providence, RI, and attended nursing school in Boston, MA. A former executive secretary for Emblem & Badge in Providence, RI. Elayne, a resident of Moorpark who lived in the Conejo Valley for 33 years, was born in Providence, RI. She also lived in Chicago, IL, Grand Rapids, MI, and various cities in both California and Rhode Island. Elayne enjoyed laughing with family and friends, and some of her favorite times were spent poolside at the Greenwich Club in East Greenwich, RI, Sunset Hills Country Club in Thousand Oaks, CA and the Vintage Crest Pool Club in Moorpark, CA.

The former Elayne Beck is predeceased by her father, mother and brother: Max, Lillian and Ronald Beck of Rhode Island. She is survived by her loving husband and best friend, Edward, daughter Meredith Sewell, and son-in-law Andrew Sewell. Elayne is also survived by her maternal aunt, Bertha Lisker, of Warwick, RI.

A graveside service was conducted by Rabbi Michael Lotker on Thursday, January 4th at Pierce Brothers Valley Oaks Memorial Park at 5600 Lindero Canyon Rd, Westlake Village, CA 91362.
