Elite Physical Therapy was recently recognized with an Achievement Worksite Health Award from Blue Cross & Blue Shield of Rhode Island (BCBSRI) and the Greater Providence Chamber of Commerce for effective programs encouraging employee health and well-being in a meaningful way. This is the second year in a row that Elite Physical Therapy has won this prestigious award.  Elite Physical Therapy is also the first and only Physical Therapy group in Rhode Island to receive this recognition.

“Our group is thrilled to earn this recognition because we strongly believe in practicing what we preach to our patients and communities, and setting a good example in being healthy,” said Elite Physical Therapy’s Founder and Doctor of Physical Therapy, Michael Nula.

Elite was one of more than 75 Rhode Island businesses honored by BCBSRI and the Chamber with a Worksite Health Award at a breakfast attended by hundreds of state business leaders on June 8. The event celebrated local businesses that have demonstrated a commitment to improving Rhode Islanders’ overall health through innovative wellness programs, as companies and individuals.

“We commend Elite Physical Therapy for investing in wellness programming and creating a stronger workforce,” said Kim Keck, president and CEO of BCBSRI. “Employees who are encouraged to take charge of their own health and wellness feel empowered and valued. Working as a team to help employees get healthy and stay healthy translates to a more committed, more engaged workforce – and that is a true sign of success.”

"By increasing morale and production, and decreasing healthcare costs and sick leave, worksite health programs are a win for all involved. We applaud Elite Physical Therapy for making the commitment to invest in the wellness of their team and for inspiring more Rhode Island businesses to find creative ways to help their employees live better, healthier and happier lives. We encourage other companies to follow their lead,” said Laurie White, president of the Greater Providence Chamber of Commerce.
