William Francis and Dawn Marie Boyd of Green Meadow Drive, Narragansett, have announced the engagement of their daughter, Courtney E. Boyd, to Alexander Miller Bucci, son of Paul Michael and Christine Marie Bucci of St. Mary’s Drive, Cranston.

The future bride is a graduate of Toll Gate High School in Warwick and the New England Institute of Technology. She is a medical records clerk.

The future groom is a graduate of Cranston High School West and the New England Institute of Technology. He is co-owner of B&B Construction.

Alex met Courtney through her brother, Scott, as both Alex and Scott attended NEIT and both were in construction management. After becoming friends and forming a business partnership, Alex was over Courtney’s home more and more often. Three years later, Courtney began attending NEIT and their paths crossed almost daily, and frequently they would grab a coffee or a quick bite to eat. Memberships to Planet Fitness had them working out together and enjoying each other’s company. Not wanting to jeopardize their business, Alex asked Scott how he felt about asking Courtney out on a date. After a thumbs up from Scott, he proceeded to ask her mom how she felt about them dating. Extremely grateful and happy, Alex planned an unforgettable first date, with the beach being part of every special moment in their lives. Fast forward from a picnic on the beach, a beach proposal and finally dancing the night away with their family and friends on the shores of Newport, Alex and Courtney are anxiously awaiting to begin their new life together.

The couple is planning a June 2, 2018 wedding at St. Gregory the Great Church.
