Open letter to the Friends of Warwick Senior Centers:
I recently received a letter from Meg Underwood, director of Senior Services, who wrote to inform me of the latest donations your organization made to the center. The continued support and generosity you show to the patrons of the Pilgrim Senior Center is exceptionally humbling.
As you know, bingo remains a favorite among our senior community. Players had been using the original board and table equipment that was purchased when the center was first built. As you can imagine, after many years of frequent use, it was in need of replacing. It is my understanding that the replacement cost was approximately $6,000, and Friends of Warwick Senior Centers donated it in full to the Pilgrim Senior Center. It goes without saying that the new bingo equipment will be greatly appreciated by all patrons.
Additionally, the $500 Giving Tree donation made during this past holiday season speaks volumes about your continued commitment to providing support, encouragement and funding to the critical services provided to our senior population. I am thrilled that the donation went towards purchasing clothing and Stop & Shop gift cards for those in need.
Throughout the year, it is easy to be swept up in the hustle and bustle of daily life. With demanding schedules and obligations, it is easy to lose sight of helping others. However, it is organizations like Friends of Warwick Senior Centers that help us to stay focused and committed to what is truly important. Thank you again for your continued commitment to our seniors.
To everyone involved with Friends of Warwick Senior Centers, I thank you for all that you do and wish you all a wonderful 2017.
