George F. Marshall Jr., 88, died Sunday, December 23, 2018. He was husband of the late Marjorie A. (Drew) Marshall.

He was a son of the late George F. and Edith L. (Blizsard) Marshall. George was a graduate of St. Raphael’s Academy where he played football. He attended The University of Tennessee on a football scholarship and also played football for the US Air Force. George had worked as a lineman with Narragansett Electric for 15 years, later working as a clerk for the state of Rhode Island. He also worked as a Constable, served as a State Rep. for district 35 in Warwick for 2 terms, and was the former president of the RI State County and Municipal Employees Union. He was a Korean War Veteran serving with the US Air Force.

He was the beloved father of Diane M. Marshall (Marshall Croll), Patricia A. Reid (Andrew), Laurie J. Marshall-Matuszek (John), Janet L. Limoges (Thomas), and the late Robert G. Marshall, and the loving grandfather of eighr. He was the brother of the late William Marshall, Joseph Marshall, Ursula McGovern, and Rosalie Ott.

His funeral will be held Friday, December 28, 2018 at 8:30 a.m. from the Thomas & Walter Quinn Funeral Home, 2435 Warwick Avenue, Warwick with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. in St. Mark Church, Garden City, Cranston.
