Each cookie season, troops from the Girl Scouts of Southeastern New England (GSSNE) are given the option to donate a portion of their cookie sale proceeds to a community service project.

This year, the Council-wide beneficiary of the 2019 Cookie Sale Service Project was Little Rhody Rescue & Quarantine Inc. GSSNE is thrilled to announce that $2,968.30 was donated to this impressive non-profit organization. Kate Dubuque, is the owner and sole operator of Little Rhody Rescue & Quarantine, and was presented with a check by Ginger Lallo, Senior Director of Advancement for GSSNE on Thursday, August 1 at the Little Rhody Rescue Facility in Harmony, Rhode Island.

Little Rhody Rescue & Quarantine is a 501(c)3 non-profit dog rescue and quarantine facility located in Rhode Island, their mission is to strive to find safe homes for under privileged and neglected dogs.

Their staff is made up of a volunteer team consisting of a small group of friends and acquaintances that share a love for dogs, with Kate Healey Dubuque being the founder and President of the rescue.  All of the dogs that are rescued from animal shelters in Tennessee are considered to be in “high kill” shelters. Every rescue is tested for disease, spayed and neutered, micro-chipped, vaccinated, de-wormed and administered preventatives for fleas, ticks and heartworm. Little Rhody Rescue is licensed in the states of Connecticut, Rhode Island, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, Vermont and Maine. They are proud to say that they not only take in puppies, but they also never leave behind the mom! To date Little Rhody Rescue and its affiliates have rescued and adopted over 11,500 shelter dogs to loving wonderful families.
