Gridiron Club plans golf tourney to fund scholarships

The Providence Gridiron Club, which sponsors six dinners and a brunch yearly, is actively trying to raise more money so it can add scholarships and more honors to its program, which recognizes and benefits youth, high school and college football players, along with coaches, officials, administrators and contributors to football.

This June 17 the club will sponsor a golf tournament at Valley Country Club in Warwick. It will be a day of fun, food and friends. The cost per player is $150. It will be $600 per foursome, and that fee includes 18 holes with cart, driving range practice balls, registration gift and goodie bag, a lunch buffet, beer and sift drinks on the course, a dinner buffet, a raffle and auction and on-course skill challenges sponsored by Dixon Golf.

The club is also looking for event sponsors at $2,500 per foursome, which gets you a start from the first tee in the 1 p.m. shotgun start; a single banner with your name, company logo, and message; raffle tickets and mulligan for the foursome’ a tee sign at the first tee; and entry into the putting contest. The PGC is also looking for lunch/dinner sponsors for $1,500. That will get you a foursome, a banner with name, logo and message; and a Tee Sign on the course. Golf cart sponsors at $1,000 get a foursome and their name on every golf cart sign. Tee sponsor gets a tee sign on the course for $100.
