Harry J.G. Grattage, Jr., 80, of Johnston, died December 3, 2011 at Philip Hulitar Inpatient Center, Providence. He was the beloved husband of Dolores A.(Daigneault) Grattage.

Born in Providence, he was the son of the late Beulah May (O'Brien) and Harry J.G. Grattage Sr. Mr. Grattage was a graduate of Cranston High School and was an electrician for the IBEW Local 99.

He had been a member of the Fidelity Chapter, Order of DeMolay for Boys. He was a Past Master of Nathanael Greene Lodge # 45, F & AM of Warwick, now affiliated with Harmony Lodge #9 F & AM of Cranston. He was a Past High Priest of Harmony Royal Arch Chapter, the Rhode Island Shriners, where he had been a member of the Clown Unit, the Northeast Shrine Clown Association and the International Shrine Clown Association, known as “Hot Stuff” the Clown. He was a member of the Ancient Accepted Scottish Rite, Valley of Providence, St. John’s Commandery, Knights Templar, Moslem Grotto, Swords of Bunker Hill, Gaspee Order #99 and the Church of the Ascension, Cranston.

Besides his wife he is survived by five daughters, Stephanie A. Tate, Lynn D. Costa, Susan M. Schaff, Janine A. Bellandese and Denise L. Malo; six grandchildren, Carrie Johnson, Wayne Hamel, Alexander Guravskas, Jonathan Bellandese, Cassandra Malo and Jacob Malo; and a brother, Harold L. Grattage.

Calling hours were Dec. 7 at Carpenter-Jenks Funeral Home and Crematory, 659 East Greenwich Ave., West Warwick, with a Masonic service by Harmony Lodge followed by a funeral service at Church of the Ascension, 390 Pontiac Ave., Cranston. Burial was in Highland Memorial Park, Johnston.
