Mayor Joseph Solomon’s visits to Warwick businesses often includes a tour of the premises, details of the operation from the owner and staff and, in the case of restaurants and breweries, a sampling of the fare. But Solomon’s visit to Bertucci’s on Post Road added a twist. After a tour guided by sales and catering specialist Sabryna Nobrega and in the glow of the brick oven, the mayor rolled out dough and went for lots of pepperoni under the watchful eye of chef Byron Ruiz. As the pie baked, learning of the mayor’s sweet tooth, Bertucci’s staff produced a plate of cannoli. Unable to resist, Solomon had a bite of dessert before sharing his pizza creation with those who accompanied him. (Warwick Beacon photo)
