Hospital course covers A to Z of medical terms
Kent Hospital’s Education Department is offering a comprehensive course in medical terms and conditions. The course is open to newcomers to health care, people interested in preparing for a career or for anyone who simply wants a better understanding of medical words.
“We offer this course on a regular basis and always find a great deal of interest,” said Kent Hospital senior education specialist Ray Thurber, RN. “We explain how medical words are formed, define diseases, tests and procedure terms by body system and also include some basic information on anatomy and abbreviations.” Thurber said the class is limited in size so that personal attention can be given to each student’s needs.
The next class runs from Jan. 21 to March 13 and will be held on consecutive Mondays and Wednesday from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. in the Hospital’s Trowbridge Building, 4B. The $120 class fee (non-CNE employees) includes all materials and a certificate of completion. For immediate family members only of CNE employees, they will receive a 50 percent discount.
