Host of "This Old House" featured speaker at Rhode Island Spring Flower and Garden Show


Kevin O'Connor, host of television's pioneer home improvement series "This Old House," will be a featured speaker at the 20th anniversary Rhode Island Spring Flower and Garden Show, to be held February 21-24 in Providence. Nominated for an "Outstanding Service Show Host" Emmy Award in his debut season, Kevin became the third host in the history of the pioneer home improvement series and the Emmy-nominated series "Ask This Old House" in 2003. He also serves on the editorial board of This Old House<\f>magazine. Kevin is also co-host of "This New House," which premiered on the DIY Network in 2010.

O'Connor joins a roster of garden and horticultural experts including author and landscape designer Julie Moir Messervy and nationally known gardening expert and author Melinda Myers, a columnist and contributing editor for Birds & Blooms magazine who will appear during the Flower Show's Bartlett Tree Lecture Series.

Again this year, the show presents its exclusive Food and Wine Festival. This "Festival Within The Flower Show" will be held from 1-6 p.m. each day of the Flower Show in the Fifth Floor Ballroom in the Convention Center. Featured will be continuous chef demonstrations with celebrity chefs including Nemo Bolin, chef-proprietor of Cook and Brown Public House, Sara Moulton of public television's "Sara's Weeknight Meals" and Johnson & Wales University Chef Educators Frank Terranova, Neath Pal and Ciril Hitz. Over 100 wines from all over the world will be available for sampling with wine personalities such as Randy Arnold, "The Barefoot Guy," pairing foods and wines.
