John Harold Sisco

John Harold Sisco, 95, of Arthur Street passed away on Monday, July 24, 2017 at his home surrounded by his family. He was the loving husband of Alberta R. (Veader) Sisco to whom he was married 75 years.

Born in East Providence, he was a son of the late Jesse B. Sisco and Anna S. (Hoague) Sisco Kearns. Mr. Sisco was a machinist at the former Fram Corporation for many years before he retired. He was an Army veteran of World War II serving as a Medic. He was the recipient of the Bronze Star, Combat Medical Badge, Silver Star Medal with Oak Leaf Cluster, Purple Heart, Distinguished Unit Badge, World War II Victory Medal, European-African-Middle Eastern Theater Ribbon with two Bronze Service Stars, Good Conduct Medal and the American Theater of Operations Medal. He was also a member of the American Legion Post 311, Seekonk. Mr. Sisco will always be remembered for his keen wit and his sense of humor.

Besides his wife he leaves four loving daughters; Sandy Wood and her husband Bill of Seekonk, Stasie Stuart and her husband Russell Hetu of Las Vegas, Carol Luther and her husband Gary of Warwick and Jody Maston of Seekonk; six very special grandchildren: Jennifer Hicks, SFC James Stuart, Billy Wood, Jr., Erin Foster, Shannon Maston and John Maston and five great-grandchildren. He also leaves one sister, Barbara Ellinwood and one brother, Charles Baxter and many nieces and nephews. He was the brother of the late Loretta Plunkett, Ethel Dixon, Thomas Burns, Hugh Burns, Norman Baxter, Joseph Baxter, Jr. and Kenneth Baxter.

His funeral was held on July 29th from the Perry-Mcstay Funeral Home, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial in Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church, Taunton Avenue, Seekonk.

Burial with Military Honors was in Gate of Heaven Cemetery.
