Joseph P. “Joe” Anthony, age 83, of Belt Street, Warwick, died at home on Thursday, May 25, 2017. He was the husband of Helen M. (DeSanto) Anthony. They were married for 62 years.

Born in Providence, a son of the late John R. Anthony and Anna M. (Patrick) Logan, he lived in Warwick for most of his life. He was the step-son of the late William F. Logan. Mr. Anthony was employed as a master tradesman at American Hoechst in Coventry for 36 years, retiring in 1994. He was a member of Teamsters Local # 251 Retirees. He was a former member of the Rhode Island Army National Guard.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by two daughters, Carol A. Lanko and her husband John, of Lordstown, OH, and Susan A. Blake and her husband Wil, of Hope Valley; a sister, Audrey Harris of Silverdale, WA; and four grandchildren: Joseph P. Fell, Allyson S. Fell, Andrew Blake and Matthew Blake. He was the brother of the late John Anthony, George Anthony, and Barbara Peltier.

His funeral service will be held on Tuesday, May 30, at 11 a.m. in the Barrett & Cotter Funeral Home, 1328 Warwick Avenue, Spring Green, Warwick. Relatives and friends are invited, and may visit at the funeral home on Tuesday from 10-11 a.m. Burial will be in Greenwood Burial Ground, Coventry.
