Kathleen A. (Ball) Gaudet, age 85, of Narragansett Street, Cranston, passed away on Monday, August 14, 2017, at Rhode Island Hospital. She was the wife of the late Mark A. Gaudet.

Born in Providence, the daughter of the late Martin C. and Catherine M. (Mooney) Ball, she lived in Lincoln for 40 years before moving to Warwick in 1976 and to Cranston in 2001. She earned a bachelor’s degree in education from Rhode Island College, and her master’s degree in education from Boston University. She was an avid reader. Mrs. Gaudet was employed as a teacher in the Lincoln Public Schools for 9 years, and as a supervisor of reading programs in the Warwick Public Schools for 23 years. After retiring from the public schools, she taught at St. Timothy School and St. Peter School in Warwick for another 20 years.

She is survived by two cousins, Barbara Burns Sullivan of Seekonk, MA and David Shea of North Providence; several very close friends; and her beloved cat, Fiona.

Her funeral will be held on Friday, August 18, at 8:45 a.m. from the Barrett & Cotter Funeral Home, 1328 Warwick Avenue, Spring Green, Warwick, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 9:30 a.m. in St. Peter Church, 350 Fair Street, Warwick. Relatives and friends are invited, and may visit at the funeral home on Friday from 7:45-8:45 a.m. Burial will be in the Rhode Island Veterans Cemetery, Exeter.
