Kay E. Loring, 74, died Monday, February 6, 2017 at the Philip Hulitar Hospice Center in Providence. For 53 years she was the beloved wife of Richard W. Loring.

Born in Leominster, MA, a daughter of the late Walter Hart and Edith (Woolacott) Chesbrough Hart, she graduated from Woonsocket High School and lived in Providence for six years before moving to West Greenwich in 1970. She worked as an electronics assembler for Gulton Industries in East Greenwich; previously as a CNA at Brentwood Nursing Home in Warwick. Kay was a member and Sunday school teacher at Lakewood Baptist Church, Warwick. A great listener and very caring person, she always had a smile for everyone. Guided by her strong Christian faith, Kay hoped and prayed her life would influence the faith journey of each of her family members.

In addition to her husband, she is survived by three children: Wendy K. Parenteau & her husband, Gerard of Blaine, ME, Richard B. Loring, whose late wife was Heather and Peter W. Loring & his wife, Aimee of Warwick; one brother: Frederick Chesbrough & his wife, Janet of Westminster, MA; two sisters: Gail Feddern, whose late husband was Henry, of Sanbornville, NH and Marilyn Briggs & her husband, George of Woonsocket; her sister-in-law Joyce I. Slinn & her husband, George of Warwick and by their very best friends, Linda & Ray Hart of Fairburn, GA. She was a devoted Grandma of ten grandchildren: Nicholas, Nathaniel, Amanda, Noah, Brent, Alyssa, Kaylee, Abigail, Courtney and Kristy.

Calling hours were held on Friday, February 10 from 4:00 - 7:00 p.m. at Carpenter-Jenks Funeral Home & Crematory, 659 East Greenwich Avenue, West Warwick. A private burial service was held by her family on Saturday in Elmgrove Cemetery, North Kingstown. Relatives and friends were invited to attend a memorial service on Saturday, February 11 at 11:00 am at Lakewood Baptist Church, 259 Atlantic Avenue, Warwick.
