Kevin P. Collins, Cpt. of the WPD (Ret), 63, passed away Saturday, April 11th, at his home in Florida. He was the son of the late Bernard W. and Mary A. (Devlin) Collins.

Kevin was a 22 year, highly decorated veteran of the Warwick Police Department, having earned the Medal of Bravery, numerous other decorations, and having worked on many notorious Warwick cases. He was a former Communicant at St. Benedict’s Church, a member of the Elks, and enjoyed spending time at his residence in Deerfield Beach, Florida. He was a “cop’s cop” and a “man’s man” but mostly, he was loved by all that knew him.

Kevin was the brother of Stephen Collins, Patricia Collins, Kathleen Howard, Joan Collins, Sean T. Collins (WPD Ret), Tracy Collins, Terence R. Collins (WPD Ret), and the late Timothy Collins. He is survived by many beloved nieces and nephews, as well as great-nieces and nephews; he was ‘Uncle Kevie’ to all of them. Timothy Collins, Robert Collins, Diana Cawley (Collins), Michael Collins, Melissa Collins, Christopher Collins, Alex Collins, Ryan Collins, Sarah Collins, Erica Lyons, Kristen Brooks (God Daughter), David Brooks, Matthew Howard (CFD), Christina Martnez, Kathleen Hanley, Thomas (Lindsay), and Brittney. He was Papa to Ryan and Alicia.

His visitation and Mass of Christian Burial in St. Kevin Church will be held at a time to be announced. Burial will be in Pawtuxet Memorial Park, Warwick.
