Lenihan receives top honor from National Association of Realtors

Patricia Lenihan of East Greenwich, managing broker for Coldwell Banker Residential Brokerage's East Greenwich and Newport, offices, has been recognized with the Omega Tau Rho Award. This award and membership into the honorary fraternity is presented by the National Association of Realtors (NAR).

Established in 1950 by the NAR, the Omega Tau Rho award is one of the NAR's highest honors. Honorees are presented with a Medallion of Service as a token of the high esteem in which inductees are held by their fellow Realtors. It symbolizes the appreciation accorded to them for their exemplary dedication, service and contributions to the National Association of Realtors and its institutions, societies and councils. Once a medallion is awarded, the recipient is a member for life.

Lenihan was honored during the annual meeting and installation of officers for the Rhode Island Association of Realtors on October 18 at the Kirkbrae Country Club. Each year, the Association selects inductees to Omega Tau Rho fraternity and awards the medallion authorized by the National Association of Realtors.

Lenihan has served in several leadership positions on the local, state and national Realtor associations, including the 2016 President of the Kent Washington Association of Realtors; Director on the Board of the R.I. Association of Realtors, Chair of the state association's Government Affairs Committee, member of the Professional Standards and Forms Committees.

She currently serves as National Association of Realtors Federal Political Contact to U.S. Senator Sheldon Whitehouse and is the RI member of NAR's Broker Involvement Committee. Last year, she was voted the 2016 Rhode Island Realtor of the Year by her peers.
