Leo Andrew Scallon, Jr. 71, of Attleboro, passed away peacefully on Saturday, June 24, 2017 at home with his beloved family at his side. He was the dear husband of Marilyn Marie (Holmes) Scallon.

Born on April 11, 1946, he was the son of the late Leo A. Scallon, Sr. and the late Ann U. (Quinn) Scallon. A graduate of Bishop Hendricken High School, Class of 1964, Leo received his Bachelor's degree in Business Accounting from Providence College in 1968. Before retiring, he worked for more than thirty years as a District Manager for Verizon, and for more than eight years for National Grid, and worked part-time as a valued employee of Dyer-Lake Funeral Home. Leo proudly and honorably served our country in the United State Army. A resident of Attleboro since 2010, he previously lived in North Attleboro for many years. Leo was a man of great faith and devotion, and was a member of St. John the Evangelist Church in Attleboro. He genuinely loved golf: playing, watching or talking about golf. He was a member of the Larson Golf League. An avid reader, he frequently could be found enjoying mystery and spy novels on his Kindle. He liked listening to the radio, especially at night, and enjoyed talk, political, and sports radio. Above all, though, Leo loved being with his family, his good friends, and his faithful pets: "Scully" and the late "Mulder".

In addition to his wife, he is survived by his beloved children: Joseph Andrew Scallon of Attleboro, MA; Jonathan Edward Scallon and his wife, Mary, of South Wales, NY; and Elizabeth Ann Scallon of Taunton, MA. He was the loving father of the late Thomas Michael Scallon who died in 1987. Leo was the adoring grandfather of Amelia Noelle Scallon, Abriana Scallon, Dominic Scallon, Padraig Scallon, Isaac Scallon, Benjamin Scallon, and Zita Scallon. He was the brother of Kathleen Algiere, John Scallon, Thomas Scallon, Michael Scallon, and the late Robert Scallon. He leaves many nieces and nephews and dear friends, and will be especially missed by his many golf friends.
