Library “Friends” re-elects David Dupéré board president
David P. Dupéré has been re-elected President of the Board of Friends of the Warwick Public Library. Consisting of over 600 “Friends” the group is a primary supporter of the library’s activities through numerous fund raising ventures during the year.
Dupéré has been an active member of the Friends for more than 12 years, serving in every position on the Board. This is his second rotation as President, the first having been during 2005 & 2006. One of his current goals is to develop a community outreach program increasing the Friend’s membership base, especially from the business sector.
Describing the work of the Friends of the Warwick Public Library, Library Director Diane Greenwald commented: “Thanks to the invaluable efforts of the Friends we’re able to offer a summer reading program, musical and cultural events and purchase new equipment and materials.”
Dupéré is Executive Vice President/Chief Operating Officer of Wave Federal Credit Union headquartered in Warwick. He was previously President & CEO of Anchor Federal Credit Union prior to its merger with Wave. He and his family reside in Smithfield.
