Warwick musicologist Lloyd Kaplan will give a two-part presentation on the Origin and Legacy of the Recorded Blues on Tuesdays, April 25 and May 2 at 7 p.m. at the Warwick Public Library. On April 25, he will speak about how the blues became popular, who made it popular, who were the major blues stars, and how blues recordings started the race records industry. On May 2, explore the influence of the blues on other musical genres, including country, Broadway and classical music.
