Maureen (Cunningham) Vigneault, age 75, of St. George Court, Warwick, died on Friday, December 9, 2016, at Rhode Island Hospital in Providence. She was the beloved wife of Robert G. Peters.

Born in Providence, a daughter of the late Joseph M. and Mary Frances (Earley) Cunningham, she lived in Warwick for 50 years. She was the widow of the late Paul R. Vigneault. She was a graduate of St. Xavier Academy in Providence and the Community College of Rhode Island. Maureen was employed as a customer service representative at New England Telephone/Verizon for 20 years and retired in 1996. She was a proud member of the Telephone Pioneers of America. Maureen and her husband Bob loved to go dancing and to listen to live music. She enjoyed traveling and ventured all over the world including Europe and Asia, and most recently celebrated her 75th birthday on a cruise to the Bahamas.

In addition to her husband, she is survived by her three daughters: Suzanne V. Ellison and her husband, Eric of Greenwich, CT; Jacqueline V. Szymanski and her husband, Michael of Ridgewood, NJ; and Michelle V. Morash and her husband, Doug of Westfield, MA. She was the sister of Michael J. Cunningham of Ocean Isle, NC and Jeanne M. Cunningham of Woodstock, GA. She cherished being with her family and was especially adored by her ten grandchildren: Katie, Maggie, and Henry Ellison; Olivia, Tommy, Jack, and Julia Szymanski; and Matthew, Ryan, and Grace Morash.

Her funeral will be held on Wednesday, December 14th, at 9:00 a.m. from the Barrett & Cotter Funeral Home, 1328 Warwick Avenue, Warwick, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 a.m. in St. Peter Church, 350 Fair Street, Warwick. Visiting hours will be on Tuesday, December 13th from 4-7 p.m. Burial will be in St. Ann Cemetery, Cranston.
