Micheline (Mickey) M. Henderson, 95, recently of Apple Valley, CA, and long time resident of Warwick, RI, passed away in her sleep on Mother’s Day, May 13, 2018. She was the wife of the late William B. Henderson of San Antonio, TX.
She was a daughter of Mildred M. Spaulding of Fall River, MA and Michael F. Limoges of Quebec, Canada. She moved to Apple Valley, CA in November, 2011. While in Rhode Island she was a graduate of Lockwood High School, worked at Central Market in Warwick, Cherry & Webb and Spiedel in Providence and retired from Ann & Hope in Warwick where, for many years, she worked at the customer service counter; always joking, happy and smiling. She was outgoing and had many friends. Mickey, as all her friends called her, was spunky and could be the life of a party.
Her husband Bill and son, Leo, lovingly called her Tricky Mickey. She loved to watch and read mysteries, and had an extensive library of which she donated many of her most beloved books to Warwick’s Pilgrim Senior Center. She also loved to sing and often spent her Saturdays cleaning and listening to her many vinyl records, 45’s and 33’s, singing along with her favorite country singers and many other artists of her time. She was a member of the choir at Woodbury Union Church. She enjoyed crocheting, plastic canvasing and ceramics. She loved her many dogs and cats. Her yard was well known for its beautiful flowers that were her pride and joy. She was a friend to her neighbors and all the kids of the neighborhood.
She leaves son, John A. Henderson and his wife, Patricia of Apple Valley, CA, daughter, Billie-Jean Lima and her husband Robert of Warwick, RI, and her daughter-in-law, Joan Henderson and children, the late Leo F. and and Thomas A. Henderson. She leaves 16 grandchildren, 30 great-grandchildren and 19 great-great-grandchildren.
A Memorial Service will be held at a future date and time to be determined by the family. Memorial contributions may be made to Woodbury Union Church Choir, 58 Beach Avenue, Warwick, RI 02889.
