Minding the patch

Posted

Judy Ellinwood looks over the pumpkin patch at St. Mark’s Episcopal Church on West Shore Road that sprouted last Saturday with a truckload of the gourds. As it has done for the past several years, the church is selling the pumpkins with a portion of the proceeds benefiting the Elizabeth Buffum Chace Center based in Conimicut. Prices start at 50 cents and go up based on size. For a first time, swan gourds have been added to the patch. The patch is open for browsing and for sales Sunday from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m.; Saturday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. and weekdays from noon to 6 p.m. (Warwick Beacon photos)
