To the Editor:
I recently had to contact Warwick Animal Control regarding a small, injured rabbit in my backyard. Within minutes, Officer Amy responded to my call for help. I was visibly shaken and more upset than may be usual. We started chatting about her work and life in general. I told her about some recent unfortunate events in my life that may have contributed to my over-emotional reaction to the rabbit. She listened patiently and treated me with the utmost respect.
Working as an animal control officer may be, at times, a somewhat thankless job. However, a big thank you to Officer Amy for conducting her job in a highly professional manner and for interacting with me on a personal and empathetic level. She is a valuable asset to have as a member of Warwick Animal Control.
