Pedal To End Cancer returns March 3 at Bristol Total Fitness

Posted

Bristol Total Fitness, 684 Metacom Ave., Bristol, will host the American Cancer Society’s annual Pedal To End Cancer, formerly Spin For Hope, on Sunday, March 3, from 9 a.m. to noon.

There are still several bikes available for those wishing to participate at this location.

Pedal To End Cancer is a three-hour indoor cycling fundraising event to benefit cancer research, education, advocacy and services. Participants can spin as a one-person team for all three hours or form a team and split up the time. All funds raised support the American Cancer Society and its mission to eliminate cancer as a major public health threat.

Total Fitness raised more than $66,500 in 2018 and has consistently been among the top 10 fundraising clubs in New England since it started hosting indoor cycling events to support the American Cancer Society. This will be its seventh year hosting Pedal To End Cancer and its 13th year hosting events aimed at fighting cancer.

Total Fitness Spinning instructors who will be leading the event are Julie Fostin, Lizzie Newton, Tammy Wilde-Kappes, Peggy Murgo, Adriana Ferns and Leslie Brow.

Participants register online and pay the $25 nonrefundable registration fee to participate. All participants in the Pedal to End Cancer need to register as either a team captain or team member even if planning on spinning the full three hours individually.

Participants may register as a one-person team and reserve their own bike. Individuals registering to cycle the entire three hours are encouraged, but not required, to raise $300. Participants can also choose to share a bike with up to two others and split up the three hours. Those registering to share a bike are encouraged to raise $100 each. A nonrefundable $25 registration fee applies per participant.
