ASSAULT
On Feb. 18 at approximately 12:33 a.m. Officers Jonathan Reiff and Steven Moretti responded to the report of a disturbance in progress at The Trap Bar & Grill on Old Forge Road. Dispatch told them that one male subject was “out of control” and causing damage to the property.
Upon arrival, East Greenwich police had already taken the subject, identified as Timothy Gaudette, 26, of 30 Parker St. Apt. A in West Warwick, into custody. Officer Reiff took custody of Gaudette at this time, putting him into handcuffs and in the back of his police car.
Employees of The Trap told officers that Gaudette had been asked to leave the establishment due to multiple disturbances throughout the night. He re-entered the bar one time, then after being escorted out again by the bouncer he punched an outside patio screen multiple times, breaking the wood frame and knocking the screen out. He also yelled profanities at the employees.
The manager told the officers that they had stopped serving Gaudette alcohol after he had become obnoxious and disorderly. When he was kicked out of the bar, she said, he threw a shot glass that hit a patron of the restaurant.
This patron said that while she was standing at the bar Gaudette threw a shot glass that hit her in the shoulder. She had no previous relationship with him. She also said that Gaudette approached her after throwing the glass and said to her “say something” and “what are you going to do.” He was then escorted out of the bar.
The manager said that the Trap wished to pursue a criminal complaint against Gaudette for malicious damage and get a no trespass from the property for him. The patron who was hit with a shot glass also wished to pursue a criminal complaint against Gaudette.
Gaudette was transported to police headquarters, where he was charged with Simple Assault or Battery, Vandalism/Malicious Injury to Property, and Disorderly Conduct. He was given a Third District Court date of March 27 and released.

LARCENY
On Feb. 16 at approximately 5:30 p.m. Officer Thomas Paine responded to the report of stolen items at the East Ave. Laundromat.
The reporting party told the Officer that he had put his clothes in a washer around 1:30 p.m. that day and then put his clothes in the dryer at 2:00 p.m., when he went out to his car. He said that when he returned he found that one of his pairs of jeans, which he valued at $130, was missing. He said he wished to press charges.
Officer Paine then spoke with the employee working, who said she could not identify a suspect that may have taken the jeans out of the dryer, and later spoke with the manager, who said there was no video surveillance that showed the jeans being taken form the dryer in question.  The store does have video surveillance of the laundromat.
