LARCENY

Shortly after 12:30 p.m. on April 29, Officer Albert Marano Jr. responded to a Lippitt Avenue residence for a report of a stolen handicap placard.

At the scene, the reporting party told Marano the handicap placard inside his 2005 Chevy Equinox had been taken at some point in the prior four or five days. The vehicle had been left unlocked, the reporting party said.

The matter was documented. ***

Shortly after 8 a.m. on April 30, Officer Daniel O’Connell responded to the Speedway at 61 Airport Road to meet with a reporting party regarding an earlier larceny incident.

At the scene, the reporting party told O’Connell that she had parked her vehicle at the Speedway shortly after 9 p.m. on April 29. While inside the gas station, she left her purse on the front passenger seat of her unlocked 2009 Nissan Altima. She got back into the vehicle and returned home, at which point she realized the purse was missing.

The purse was said to contain $200 in cash, prescription medication, a birth certificate, a Social Security card, a checkbook and other personal paperwork.

No security camera footage was available. The matter was documented. ***

Just before 1 p.m. on May 3, Officer Robert Canis-Langlais responded to Thrive at 4372 Post Road for a report of larceny.

At the scene, the reporting party told Canis-Langlais that at some point during the previous week, four Adirondack chairs were stolen from the property. The wooden chairs were valued at $300 each.

No suspects or witnesses were immediately identified. The matter was documented.

ATTEMPTED LARCENY

Just before 3:30 p.m. on April 25, Officer Kyle Palmer responded to a Powell Street residence for a report of larceny from a motor vehicle. Dispatch advised that the reporting party had security camera footage of the incident.

At the scene, the reporting party told Palmer he observed “items that were thrown around” inside three vehicles at the property. The reporting party checked security camera footage, which showed a man going through the vehicles at approximately 4 o’clock that morning. No items were missing from the vehicles.

The matter was documented.

SHOPLIFTING

At approximately 8:30 p.m. on April 27, Officer Charles Austin Jr. responded to the CVS at 767 Warwick Ave. for a report of shoplifting.

At the scene, the store’s manager indicated that a man had been observed entering the store and selecting two large boxes of diapers. The man – who also had a hand cart filled with “assorted unknown items,” then exited the store without making any attempt to pay. Moments later, the man reentered the store and selected two more boxes of diapers before again exiting without paying.

The stolen diapers were valued at a combined $151.45. The store was able to provide security camera footage of the incident.

The matter was forwarded to detectives for additional investigation.
