Prayer during pestilence

We TURN to You, Father of Creation, and we ask these petitions in The Name of Him Who heals.

For the SICK: May Your Healing and Loving Hand be on the sick and the fearful. May people eat and rest as their body needs, in order to help the natural healing God has given to us and so work with spiritual healing. May fears be relieved by loving touch, and the truth of the ultimate victory of good over evil.

For the MEDICAL: May You reveal a medicine to protect us from this disease. May we learn what we need to learn about every form of cure, including mental and emotional helps. May the medical system work alongside the spiritual and the professional caregivers, for the good of all.

For the CAREGIVERS who risk their lives to help others: May they have special strength and intelligence as they minister long and busy hours. May they find rest and nourishment in the midst of their selfless work.

For our LEADERS: May You strengthen our leaders and give them real and high wisdom. May they see and hear clearly in all the chaos and confusion they have to constantly encounter. May they discern coming in and going out, socialization and times of healthy isolation.

For our CHURCHES: May You help the churches who help their people. May You raise up helpers who care about the needs of others and who have the strength and patience to follow up with those who test the boundaries.

For our COMMUNITIES: May You help communities to work together with answers. Show them how to keep communication healthy and productive and flowing smoothly, rising above mindsets and personal opinions which are not appropriate for this crisis.

For BUSINESSES to find innovative ways to help others in this hard time. May businesses who are able to do so, adapt their focus to things which will help the crisis time. May people be aware of supporting small and local businesses when they are able to do so.

For FINANCIAL wisdom and provision, as we obey the rules to stay at home. Accurate and timely attention to finances are needed before a crisis hits. If there is already a crisis, a healthy and reasonable shift in spending may help. May financial institutions do what they can to ease the present crunch.

For our FAMILIES: May you bring us together in love, and even bless our pets. May parents and children find productive activities, especially in exercise, and find positive input on electronic devices. New and innovative disciplines for living together could be a positive outcome of this time. Pets are playing a very big role at this time.

For new HOPE: May Your Holy Spirit reveal new Hope within our hearts at Easter time, where Spring prevails. May we see clearly the permanence of Spring coming out of winter.

May we see in the heavens above the Fixed Order which Our Creator has set into time and space. May that show us that He is a Creator and not a destroyer, and that He is Eternal.

For NEW LIFE: May the understanding of Resurrection become a source of new strength.

After Jesus rose from the dead, we read that He appeared to not only His disciples but to many.

He ate and drank with them to show the reality of that New Life which He has offered to us as we believe that God raised Him. We can live now in that new life realm even as we are living here on earth.

For our HEARTS AND SPIRITS: For a new understanding of the power and love of God to reveal and to bring help. May we perceive and appreciate when God works for us through people and situations, for this is a constant truth. May we come to understand that He is ever working for our good, even through calamity and strife. There is a higher power which is FOR US.

We ask these prayers and things in The Name of Your Son, Jesus Christ, Who directed to pray The Lord’s Prayer, and to pray for one another.

It was God, Who was in His Son, Who shed His Blood to redeem us from these curses in the earth.

Amen.

Psalm 91 is now the encompassing Global Prayer Scripture for this difficult time.
