Reasoning doesn’t stand up

To the Editor:
In Senator Whitehouse’s press release from 3/21/2017 he explains about dark money advertising sources surrounding past/present Supreme Court nominee politics as a reason why he won’t support Judge Gorsuch to the Supreme Court.
After analyzing Senator Whitehouse’s own campaign reports, it seems his campaign accepts a majority of non Rhode Island contributions. In fact, over the past 2 years, out of 1,941 contributions only 587 were from Rhode Islanders with 714 coming from out of our State. Another 640 contributors were made through Act Blue, a PAC located in Massachusetts, the dark BLUE money. These Act Blue contributions aren’t easily identifiable and may provide the opportunity for individuals to contribute more than the $2,700 individual limit. Data taken from Federal Elections Commission, 2 Year Summary report, www.fec.gov.
Do these majority of outside contributors represent the interests
of Rhode Island and what type of influence do they have over Senator Whitehouse? Because of this, Senator Whitehouse’s reason to vote no for nominee Gorsuch just doesn’t stand up. I’m urging Rhode Islanders to call/email Senator Whitehouse and Senator Reed, urging them to support nominee Judge Gorsuch: Senator Whitehouse (401) 453-5294 and Senator Reed

As he tends to do when asked to justify most of his positions, the Good Senator simply makes it up. Did Whitehouse support or oppose the last two supreme court nominees? That's right, he supported them with no reservations, "dark money" and all. If RI had anything even approaching a two-party system, Sheldie would have been gone long ago.

Time for Jacqueline and Shirley to be retired to Shady Acres or the glue factory...Way to go Shirley, re-enforcing all the stereotypes of being a member of the jackass party. You, Jacqueline and Mr. stolen valor from CT, dick Blumenthal really are three of a kind that can beat a full house. Just embarrassing, the whole lot of you.
