Residents, businesses urged to participate in city priorities survey

Posted

The city’s Office of Community Development is conducting an online survey of residents and members of Warwick’s business community to help establish future priorities in a variety of areas, including, but not limited to, housing, infrastructure, recreation, economic development and human and public services.

“The public’s input is very important to this process, so we have a clear understanding of what they believe should be priorities for our community,” Mayor Joseph Solomon said in a statement. “I ask that people take a few minutes to complete the survey so that their voice is heard.”

The confidential survey, which will take approximately 10 to 15 minutes to complete, offers respondents the ability to share their opinion on the five most important issues of concern or priority needs in the community from over two dozen categories addressing topics such as infrastructure improvements, programs for seniors, youth, the homeless, and those with disabilities, jobs, housing, recreation, education, job training, social services and more. It also asks for an assessment of barriers to development or preservation of affordable housing in Warwick.

In addition, respondents are asked to rate the need for a variety of components for housing, business and economic development, infrastructure, community and public facilities, human and public services and housing types for special needs populations in Warwick. Survey takers are asked to determine whether they feel there is no need, low, medium or high need for each of the components.

Information will be used to shape future spending and project priorities over the next five years.
