Rhode Island College alumni are invited to return to campus Sept. 27-29 for the annual RIC FEST – homecoming and reunion weekend. Most events – family-friendly and interactive – are free and open to RIC graduates, the campus community and friends of the college.

"RIC FEST is one of our signature events at Rhode Island College," RIC President Frank D. Sánchez said in a statement. "We are particularly thrilled this year not only to boast a dynamic line-up of top-notch acts and events but to show off the physical transformation happening on our campus. As in years past, we welcome alumni from near and far as well as community members from all over Rhode Island. It's an exciting time to be a part of the RIC family. Come and see for yourself what all the excitement is about!"

"RIC FEST provides that one opportunity each year when our entire community of alumni, students, faculty, staff and friends of the college come together to celebrate all that's great about RIC – our beautiful campus, our school spirit and our pride for this great institution," added RIC Director of Alumni and College Relations Suzy Alba. "With all the exciting activities and events, there is really something for everyone to enjoy!"

The fun gets started on Thursday, Sept. 27 from 7-10 p.m. when RIC FEST features Maxxtone, the Northeast's leading live karaoke band who will be performing on the patio behind the Student Union. Choose from over 500 songs, grab a microphone and experience what it's like to front a rock band. This is the ultimate good time! Enter the karaoke contest and win great prizes. Enjoy light bites, desserts from local food trucks (Kona Ice, Like No Udder and Sarcastic Sweets) and giveaways. All are welcome. Admission is free but registration is required at RICFESTKickoff2018.eventbrite.com.

That’s just a sample of the events to follow including an alumni/student volleyball tournament, none-hole par-three golf tournament, reunion of Upward Bound program participants, class reunions, 5K race/walk, breakfast, family swim and activities, closing out with the RIC Athletic Hall of Fame annual dinner and recognition ceremony in Donovan Dining Center, with cocktails from 6-7 p.m. and dinner at 7 p.m. on Sept. 29. Tickets are $50 per person and can be purchased by calling 456-8007 or emailing cpeck@ric.edu.

RIC FEST will take place rain or shine. For a full event schedule, visit www.ric.edu/homecoming. You may also pick up information on RIC FEST events and tickets for lunch buffet and food trucks at the RIC FEST Welcome and Info Booth in the Recreation Center lobby from 10:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. on Saturday, Sept. 29.
