Richard D. Panizza Sr.

Richard D. Panizza Sr., 90, died Thursday, January 2, 2020. He was the husband of the late Catherine M. (Silva) Panizza.

Born in Buffalo, NY, he was a son of the late Earl G. and Palmyra (Toneeti) Panizza. He has been a resident of Warwick since 1963. Mr. Panizza had been employed as a mechanic through Untied Wiring Supply in Cranston for 27 years. He served with the United States Marine Corp. and was discharged at the rank of Sargent. He was a carpenter and had built his own home. A drummer for most of his life, he still enjoyed playing at the age of 90. A dog lover, his faithful companion was Mickey after the loss of his Doxie “Lady”. He was also an avid Patriots fan.

He leaves his daughter Deborah A. Bruno and her husband Robert and his son Richard D. Panizza Jr. and daughter-in-law Paula Panizza. He also leaves his grandchildren, Heather Lavingne and her husband Brian, Michael Creamer, Jr. and Justine Grinell and her husband Chris and Robert Bruno, Jr.; his great-grandchildren, Nicholas and Victoria Lavingne, Marcus and Rhianon Grinell, Crystal, Serenity, Wyatt Chaput, Lillian Grace Bruno and his great-great-granddaughter Mia-Paislee. He also leaves many nieces, nephews and god children.

A visitation will be held Monday, January 6, 2020 from 4-7 pm with a service at 7 pm in the Thomas & Walter Quinn Funeral Chapel, 2435 Warwick Avenue, Warwick.
