Rita (Meunier) Szydlo-Smith, 93, of Warwick, died on Sunday, April 7, 2019. She was the beloved wife of the late Edgar H. Smith.
Born in Canada, she was the daughter of the late Odias and Marie Rose (Lapierre) Meunier. She worked as a supervisor for Bostitch Inc. of East Greenwich for twenty-two years until her retirement in 1986. She was an avid bingo player and loved to travel.
Rita is survived by her three loving children: Patricia Szydlo of Newport, James F. Szydlo and his wife Charlene of Warwick, and Rosemary Skidmore and her husband George of Florida, four grandchildren: Nathan Szydlo, Nicholas Yockel, Ciara Szydlo, and Derick Szydlo, two great-grandchildren, and a brother, Leo W. Meunier and his wife Mary Lou of Warwick.
A Funeral Service will take place on Saturday, April 27, 2019 at 10 a.m. in the Urquhart-Murphy Funeral Home, 800 Greenwich Avenue, Warwick followed by a Committal Service at 11 a.m. in the Rhode Island Veterans Cemetery in Exeter. www.murphyfuneralhomes.org.
